Stoycho Danev was born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. My first introduction to photography was by my grandfather.
I had always been fascinated by the medium and by nature. As a young teenager, now armed with my camera, an old style Russian film model, I set about photographing my native streets and nature.
While studying geology in Moscow, I started to take my cameras more seriously, at that time, a Zenith and a Praktika film SLR. As part of my studies I travelled widely to such diverse countries as Poland, Germany and Yugoslavia.
But then adult life got in the way. My desire and more importantly, time, was significantly impaired.
Then more recently after purchasing my first DSLR, my interest was peaked again.
I have been living in Inishowen, Ireland for 6 years. I have an interest in landscape,travel and wildlife photography as well as portrait and special events.
